We are pleased to announce that, starting today, RentShare is getting a new brand name and a new logo to match. Moving forward we will no longer be known as RentShare.
We are now … PlacePay
But fear not! Nothing else is changing! We are still the same great team offering the same great products and services under the same reliable ownership. All that we are changing is our brand name.
FAQs
Why change your name?
We do way more than just process shared rent payments, and it was time we had a name that reflects that.
PlacePay is a brand that can grow and evolve with our product as we continue to expand to all corners of the real estate industry and beyond.
Fun Facts: Did you know that we currently power owner portals for Condo/HOA fee payments for some of the largest development companies in the country? Or that we process tens of millions of dollars in office space and conference room booking fees? Or that our flexible Payments API is being used by engineers to design unique payment experiences for a variety of industries, not just real estate?
Did RentShare go out of business?
NO! Quite the opposite actually. We grew revenue by over 100% last year and are on track to double that this year. We are still owned and operated by i3 Verticals, LLC (as we have been since 2015). i3 Verticals is a massive and very stable payments company processing billions every month. We aren't going anywhere!
Do I need to do anything? Do I need to notify my residents?
NOPE. All our active account holders (whether they are landlords or tenants) will receive a notification email letting them know about the change. They can continue to use our services the same way they always have.
Will RentShare.com still work?
YES. All the old rentshare URLs and links will now forward to
placepay.com, which has all the same offerings and content.
What will it say on customers' bank/card statements?
All payment and deposit descriptors will begin changing to include the word "PLACPAY*" in the coming weeks. We work with a range of financial institutions, which means that changes to transaction descriptors will not happen all at once for all customers. For the time being, it may still show as RENTSHR or I3VERTICALS on customer statements. That said, every email receipt will specify what descriptor to look for to avoid confusion.
