If you log in and see an account balance under your bank accounts, one of two things happened:
1.) After you paid your portion of the rent, you or one of your roommates added an expense that altered your rent amount due for the month.
2.) After you paid, the total rent you owe for the month was decreased.
To use your balance toward your rent, click the big green 'Pay' button as you usually would, then select 'Account Balance' from the dropdown menu. You must choose to pay with your account balance first. Otherwise, your bank account/card will be billed for the entire amount of rent owed, so make sure you use any account balance to pay rent first, click 'Add'. Then you can choose the other payment method to cover the rest of the amount.
